  4. Roll dough to ½-inch thickness, cut into 2-inch squares, and let rest for 10 minutes.
  5. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) and fry beignets in batches for 1–2 minutes per side until golden brown.
  6. Drain on paper towels and dust generously with powdered sugar while warm.
