- 2 dried ancho chiles, stems removed and seeds discarded
- 1 onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 bay leaf
- 2 cups beef broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
