  • 1 (15 oz) can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove and set aside, leaving some bacon grease in the pan.
  3. Sauté aromatics by adding chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until softened and fragrant.
  4. Brown the ground beef in the same skillet, breaking it apart with a spoon until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
  5. Combine ingredients by transferring the cooked beef mixture to a large mixing bowl. Stir in baked beans, kidney beans, black beans, barbecue sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, chili powder, salt, and black pepper.
  6. Transfer to a baking dish and spread the mixture evenly.
  7. Top with crumbled bacon for extra flavor and crunch.
  8. Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until the beans are bubbling and flavors are well combined.
