- 1 lb ground beef (preferably grass-fed for richer flavor)
- 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup diced pickles
- 1/2 cup diced onions
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce (unsweetened)
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional toppings: sliced tomatoes, sliced red onions, additional shredded cheese
Instructions
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Drain excess fat and set aside.
- While the beef cooks, prepare crispy bacon by frying until golden. Drain on paper towels and crumble into small pieces.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). In a mixing bowl, combine cooked beef, diced onions, pickles, tomato sauce, and Dijon mustard. Transfer to a greased casserole dish.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon evenly over the top. Add extra cheese if desired.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly. Garnish with sliced tomatoes and onions if desired. Serve hot with a salad or cauliflower rice.
Notes
- Best served fresh but leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
