Recreate the beloved Longhorn Steakhouse Parmesan Crusted Chicken at home with this easy and delicious recipe. Tender chicken breasts are marinated, grilled to perfection, and topped with a creamy, cheesy crust and crispy breadcrumb topping, delivering a restaurant-quality meal right from your kitchen.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing
  • 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon distilled white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup ranch dressing
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, ranch dressing, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, lemon juice, minced garlic, and black pepper to create the marinade.
  2. Place chicken breasts in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Seal or cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, up to overnight.
  3. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Remove chicken from the marinade and grill for 6-7 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). Transfer to an oven-safe baking dish.
  5. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine provolone cheese, Parmesan cheese, and ranch dressing. Microwave in 15-second intervals, stirring in between, until melted and smooth.
  6. Spread the cheese mixture evenly over each grilled chicken breast.
  7. In a separate bowl, mix panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, and melted butter until the breadcrumbs are evenly coated.
  8. Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture over the cheese-covered chicken breasts.
  9. Preheat the oven broiler to low. Place the baking dish under the broiler for 3-4 minutes, or until the breadcrumbs are golden brown and crispy. Watch closely to prevent burning.
  10. Remove from the oven and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a quicker marinade, you can substitute the homemade marinade with 1 cup of Italian dressing.
  • To make this recipe keto-friendly, replace panko breadcrumbs with crushed pork rinds.
  • If you don’t have provolone cheese, Swiss, mozzarella, or Muenster cheese can be used as substitutes.
  • Ensure the chicken breasts are of uniform thickness for even cooking.
  • Always monitor the chicken closely while broiling to prevent over-browning or burning.
