Ingredients

  • 1 (8-10 lb) fully cooked bone-in ham
  • 1 cup honey
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • Whole cloves (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C). Trim excess fat from ham and score the surface in a diamond pattern.
  2. In a saucepan, combine honey, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and black pepper. Simmer until thickened.
  3. Place ham in a roasting pan, brush with half the glaze, and insert whole cloves if desired.
  4. Cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes per pound. Remove foil, brush with remaining glaze, and increase temperature to 375°F (190°C) for the last 30 minutes.
  5. Let rest for 15 minutes before slicing and serving.

  • Use a fully cooked ham for convenience and safety.
  • Baste the ham every 30 minutes for extra juiciness.
  • If the glaze thickens too much, add a splash of water to thin it.
