  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 8 ounces fettuccine or pasta of choice
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken pieces with salt and black pepper.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil. Once hot, add the chicken pieces and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add butter. Once melted, add minced garlic, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes (if using). Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Meanwhile, cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  5. To the skillet, add chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring to combine. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
  6. Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  7. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, stirring to coat with the sauce.
  8. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing to combine and ensure the pasta is well coated with the sauce.
  9. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
