Description
French Dip Biscuits are the ultimate comfort food, combining the rich flavors of a classic French dip sandwich with the flaky goodness of homemade biscuits. This easy-to-make recipe is perfect for busy weeknights, game day snacks, or any occasion when you crave something warm, cheesy, and satisfying.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can (16.3 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough (8 count)
- 1 ½ cups shredded roast beef (or deli roast beef, chopped)
- 1 cup shredded Swiss or provolone cheese
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 cup beef broth (for dipping)
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon butter (melted, for brushing)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Open the can of biscuit dough and separate the biscuits. Place them on a lightly greased baking sheet or parchment-lined tray. Gently flatten each biscuit slightly with your hands to create a larger surface area for filling.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded roast beef, cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried thyme. Mix well to evenly distribute the seasonings. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the beef and cheese mixture onto the center of each flattened biscuit.
- Carefully fold the edges of each biscuit over the filling, pinching the dough together to form a sealed pocket. Make sure the filling is completely enclosed to prevent leaks during baking. Place the folded biscuits seam-side down on the baking sheet.
- Brush the tops of the biscuits with melted butter for a golden finish. Bake in the preheated oven for 12–15 minutes, or until the biscuits are puffed and golden brown. While the biscuits bake, heat the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce in a small saucepan to create a flavorful au jus for dipping.
Notes
- Store any leftover French Dip Biscuits in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- To reheat, place them in a preheated 350°F (175°C) oven for 5–7 minutes or until warmed through.
- You can also freeze the unbaked filled biscuits for up to 2 months—just bake them directly from frozen, adding a few extra minutes to the cooking time.
