  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 3 tbsp water (divided)
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • Optional garnishes: sesame seeds, sliced green onions

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken:
    • Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces for even cooking.
  2. Cook the Chicken:
    • Heat sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
    • Add chicken and cook for 6–8 minutes until golden brown and fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
  3. Make the Sauce:
    • In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, garlic, ginger, rice vinegar, and 2 tbsp water.
    • In another small bowl, mix cornstarch with 1 tbsp water to create a slurry.
  4. Combine Sauce and Chicken:
    • Return the skillet to medium heat and pour in the soy sauce mixture.
    • Simmer gently, then stir in the cornstarch slurry. Cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens.
  5. Coat the Chicken:
    • Add the cooked chicken back to the skillet, tossing to coat it in the sauce.
    • Cook for an additional 2–3 minutes to meld flavors.
  6. Serve and Garnish:
    • Serve hot over steamed rice. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
