Description

Cheesy Ground Beef & Potato Casserole is a hearty, one-pan dinner that’s perfect for busy weeknights. Combining flavorful ground beef, tender sliced potatoes, and melty cheese, this baked casserole offers comfort and nutrition in every bite. Easy to prepare and ideal for feeding the family, it’s a delicious and satisfying meal you’ll want to make again and again.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, sliced thin
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup milk or cream
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp paprika (optional)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare all ingredients before cooking.
  2. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onions and minced garlic, sauté until fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add ground beef, season with salt, pepper, and paprika, then cook until browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat and set aside.
  4. Grease a baking dish with olive oil. Layer half of the sliced potatoes, then spread the cooked ground beef mixture evenly over the potatoes. Cover with remaining potato slices.
  5. Pour milk or cream evenly over the casserole. Sprinkle shredded cheese generously on top.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until potatoes are tender and cheese is bubbly and golden.

Notes

  • Use thin slices of potato for even cooking.
  • Choose your favorite cheese for a personalized touch.
  • Add chopped green onions or fresh herbs for extra flavor.
  • For a healthier version, substitute with sweet potatoes and low-fat cheese.
