- 1 cup of granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 2 3/4 cups of milk
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
- 4 ripe bananas, sliced
- 1 box of vanilla wafers
- 1 cup of heavy whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, whisk together granulated sugar, all-purpose flour, and salt. Gradually add milk while whisking constantly. Place on medium heat and stir until thickened.
- In a separate bowl, beat eggs. Temper the eggs by adding a small amount of the hot pudding mixture, then combine with the saucepan. Cook for another two minutes, then remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
- Layer the bottom of a serving bowl with the pudding, followed by sliced bananas.
- Add a layer of vanilla wafers over the bananas. Repeat layering until all ingredients are used, finishing with a final layer of pudding.
- In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form. Spread over the top layer of pudding.
- Cover with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least four hours before serving.
