  • Diet: Gluten-Free (use gluten-free bread crumbs)

Description

This simple 4C bread crumbs meatball recipe is perfect for busy weeknights. Enjoy tender, flavorful meatballs in a classic spaghetti dish or a meatball sub. Using 4C bread crumbs ensures a perfect texture and delicious taste every time.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef (or a mix of beef and pork)
  • 1 cup 4C bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Your favorite marinara sauce, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the 4C bread crumbs and milk. Let it sit for a couple of minutes to allow the bread crumbs to absorb the milk.
  2. Add the ground beef, egg, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper to the bowl. Gently mix all the ingredients together until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  3. Using your hands or a spoon, form the mixture into small, even-sized meatballs (about 1-inch in diameter). Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Preheat your oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C). Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes, or until they are cooked through and lightly browned.
  5. Transfer the baked meatballs to a pot of your favorite marinara sauce and simmer for at least 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Notes

  • Don’t Overmix: Overmixing the meatball mixture can result in tough meatballs. Mix until just combined.
  • Use Quality Ingredients: High-quality ground meat and fresh ingredients will make a noticeable difference in the taste.
  • Test for Seasoning: Before forming all the meatballs, cook a small piece of the mixture to taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  • Simmer in Sauce: Simmering the cooked meatballs in marinara sauce enhances their flavor and keeps them moist.
