- 1 medium head of cabbage, shredded
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt

- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup warm water
- 1 tsp sugar
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/4 cups warm milk
- 2 tbsp melted butter, for brushing
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add shredded cabbage, salt, and pepper. Sauté until tender and slightly caramelized, about 10-15 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- In a small bowl, dissolve sugar in warm water. Sprinkle yeast over the water and let stand for 5-10 minutes, until foamy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and warm milk. Add the yeast mixture and mix well. Incorporate the sautéed cabbage into the dough. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes, until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, turning to coat. Cover with a clean cloth and let rise in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Punch down the dough and shape into a loaf. Place in a greased bread pan. Let rest for 15 minutes. Brush with melted butter and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool in pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
